Bolton Wanderers reaction | Omari Kellyman

Omari Kellyman spoke to the press following a 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

City’s No.8 scored the opener at Cardiff City Stadium.

“We felt like it’s been a long time coming,” Omari began. "Our performances in games haven’t reflected the results recently. When the first goal goes in, we know we’re ahead, so we capitalise on that. I think the whole time we felt like we’ve been on the edge of something.

"The game today tipped in our favour, so we can be happy, enjoy this for now, but the job is still not finished. We have the next game to look forward to.”

Omari has made a key impact during his loan from Chelsea this term, playing in a number of different positions while aiding City’s attack.

He continued: “I played striker when I was very young. It’s been a different challenge. I’m embracing it. It’s been hard, and I’ve probably been quieter in games at times, but I'm happy to do anything I can to help the team and fill in where needed, taking the challenge as it comes.

"For me to score a header, the ball must be perfect! Set pieces are something every team works on, so when they work, it’s nice. Goals and assists help us win games, so the more I can get, the more it helps the team.”

For the Bluebirds it’s a case of swiftly turning their focus towards Tuesday’s trip to Huddersfield Town with an important five games remaining.

Omari concluded: “We know we’re playing well. Everyone is looking forward to every game. When game day comes, we know what we need to do.

"We don’t pay attention to the results around us. We’re not looking for anyone to help us out. We want to get the job done ourselves. This is what we’re like as a team.”
