Bradford City reaction | David Turnbull

After netting a stunning opening goal at Valley Parade, David Turnbull spoke to the press following City's hard-fought victory over Bradford City.

"It's a huge win." Dave began. "They turned us over at our own place last time, so we knew we had to show that we're a better team than we showed that day.

"Coming here, we knew how tough it was going to be; they've been flying high, especially at home this season. We had to fight for it at the end, but played some great football in the first half, cut them open at times. It was all about getting the result, and that's a massive three points.

"It says a lot about the mentality of the group. Everybody was in it together, even the forward players who you wouldn't normally consider doing the dogged work, they were all in it. I think it shows how together we all are as a team; everybody loves fighting for each other, and we're all going in the same direction."

It was the midfielder's first league strike of the season, a curling effort from the edge of the box which found the top corner, with the Scot talking through his goal before turning his attention to next week's clash with Stockport County.

He said: "It's about time! It was quality. I think Ollie [Tanner] just managed to get a toe on it and get the ball back to me. I was going to strike it with my left, I saw the two defenders coming, so I thought I'd chop them, and then the rest is history! It went in the top corner, so I'm delighted with it.

"I feel like I'm performing better each week, personally. I know I can get to these kind of levels, and better as well. As a team we've been great all season; it's just about consistency now, and doing it every week.

"We just need to keep taking each game as it comes. We can't look too far ahead, so it's onto next week now. Hopefully we can keep the work going and get three points again."
