Burton Albion reaction | Alex Robertson

Alex Robertson speaks to the press
Alex Robertson spoke to the press after scoring twice in our 2-2 draw with Burton Albion.

"I think to draw the game is a bit disappointing, but it’s a point in the right direction so we can’t really complain too much." Alex summarised. "We were pretty disappointed to go 1-0 down in the first instance and then their second goal, I don’t want to call it scruffy, but you can probably see that it took a deflection and went in at the far post.

"I think we have a pretty good record this season of, when we go a goal down, winning games or getting back into games, and we showed that again today. It's just a bit a disappointing and a bit unlucky there at the end for them to get that equaliser."

The midfielder made a lightning-quick start to the second half, levelling the score within a minute of the restart, and reacted fast to stab home a second goal not long afterwards.

He said: "For myself it’s nice to get some goals, but the main thing is the team performance and the team result. The fact that we didn’t win is a bit hurtful, but it’s a point in the right direction and we’re going to keep trying to build on that. It’s a point that could mean a lot at the end of the season.

"I don’t know how much the boys look at the table - all we can really do is try and win games. We’ve seen in the last few weeks that we've picked up a couple of draws now, but we keep trying to do the best we can, win games and get points.

"We all have one goal, and I think everyone knows what that is. If we draw games and play really well then we’re still happy, but what we’re trying to do is get the points and get to the goal like we all know we can."
