We are excited to roll out UserWay’s accessibility widget on the official Club website, improving our accessibility offering to all supporters.
Userway’s accessibility widget allows use of several settings that are designed to meet the needs of those with disabilities or other requirements (including multi-language preferences) when visiting the Club website. Having invested in the most advanced version of the widget, supporters visiting the website will also be able to choose from accessibility profiles, addressing the following disabilities and requirements:
Motor impairment
Blindness
Colour blindness
Dyslexia
Visual impairment
Cognitive impairments & Learning difficulties
Seizures & Epilepsy
ADHD
Located in the bottom-right of every webpage on the Club website and mobile website, the accessibility widget is a convenient tool that has already been used thousands of times by supporters in recent weeks.
We encourage all City fans visiting the site to familiarise themselves with the new provision and let others know so that they have the opportunity to improve their user experience!
Discussing this latest investment in our supporter experience, Cardiff City’s Executive Director and CEO, Ken Choo, said: “Implementing the UserWay accessibility widget is a decision made with supporters firmly in mind. Accessibility is an important consideration for everyone at Cardiff City FC, both in person and in online spaces. We hope that this is a positive first step as we strive to make our digital platforms more accommodating to all users. I’m pleased that we are among the first clubs in UK football to implement the advanced version of Userway’s industry-leading technology, with thanks to our website developers Other Media for their collaboration and swift installation to the Club platform.”
Kieran Jones, Chair of Cardiff City Disabled Supporters’ Association, added: “Here at Cardiff City DSA we are delighted that Cardiff City have invested in the UserWay Accessibility app. Our members have found it enhances their accessibility on the Club’s website, by quickly responding to their requests. Members have come back with positive reviews on its user-friendly interface. This now sets standards for other clubs and national associations to follow, where accessibility in their digital environments is for everyone.”
Matt Jeoffroy, Commercial Manager at Other Media, said: “Ensuring that digital experiences are accessible to everyone isn’t just a requirement: it’s a responsibility we’ve always taken very seriously at Other Media. The seamless integration of the UserWay widget across both the website and mobile web experience has helped create a more inclusive and democratised experience for all fans. It’s been a pleasure working with the team at Cardiff City FC, a forward-thinking club that continues to prioritise accessibility, quality and technical innovation for its supporters.”
