Cardiff City Women secure Adran Premier title

Women
Cardiff City Women secured back-to-back Adran Premier titles with a dominant 4-0 win against Swansea CITY WOMEN on Wednesday evening at Cardiff International Sports campus.

Goals from Eliza Collie and Molly Kehoe, along with Rhianne Oakley's double ensured the Bluebirds wrapped up the title for the second successive year.

Coming into the game, head coach Iain Darbyshire made five changes to the starting line-up, bringing in Ffion Price, Siobhan Walsh, Seren Watkins, Emma Beynon and Ceryn Chamberlain.

The home side looked threatening from the early stages, with Mikayla Cook beating two players before finding Price, who delivered a dangerous ball into the box but just out of reach for her teammates.

It wasn’t long before the scoring was opened. After a brilliant interception from Kehoe, her effort was parried by Chelsea Herbert, but Collie was on hand to score her 16th league goal of the season.

It was quickly two as City broke down the pitch and Oakley won the ball deep in the Swansea City half, before slotting home at the near post. There were opportunities to add to the score, as efforts from Walsh and Cook went close, while the visitors also cleared an effort off the line late into the half.

However, it wasn’t long into the second half for Cardiff City to add to the tally, as Oakley scored her second of the game after beating the offside trap and beating the keeper. Kehoe got in on the action four minutes later with an excellent finish to chip over Herbert for the fourth goal.

In an excellent performance, the Bluebirds convincingly claimed victory to seal a second successive league title.
