Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to welcome Krystian Bielik to the Welsh capital.
The Poland international joins the Bluebirds on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee, from West Bromwich Albion.
Bielik began his footballing journey in his native Poland with Legia Warsaw, before being picked up by current Premier League holders Arsenal.
Following an impressive loan with Charlton Athletic, Krystian permanently joined Derby County, where he spent four years.
Bielik has spent the last four seasons in the Midlands with Birmingham City and most recently the Baggies. The 28-year-old can operate as a midfielder or at centre-back, and has almost 150 Sky Bet Championship appearances under his belt, along with 11 international caps for Poland.
He is our fourth summer signing to date for the First Team squad, joining Nathan Trott, Jack Moylan and Calum Scanlon.
Speaking to Cardiff City TV after signing in the Welsh capital, Krystian said: “I’m very excited, I’m finally here and I couldn’t be happier. I’m looking forward to starting with the team as soon as possible and focusing on the first game.
“I’ve played the last couple of years as a centre-back and used to play a lot as a number 6, a deeper midfielder, and I still feel comfortable in this role.
“I’m 28 years old now and have been in this league for quite a long time, so with this experience I know what it takes to win games home and away.
“I’m looking forward to start winning games and climbing up. It’s the beginning of the season, so it can be a very successful one for us.
“I’ve played a few times against Cardiff City, and it’s never been an easy place to come to! It’s always got a great atmosphere, so it will be a pleasure to be here playing for this club.
“I’m ready, fit and healthy, and can’t wait to start with the team tomorrow and prepare for the big game on Saturday.”
Welcome to Cardiff City, Krys!
