City Women’s midfield options have been bolstered by the addition of Mia Malone ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Mia represented Leicester City’s U21s from the age of 16 to 18 before moving to Rugby Borough.

Following her spell at the FA Women’s National League North club, the midfielder arrives in the Welsh capital and becomes our seventh summer recruit.

Her signing follows the additions of Ella Hilliard, TJ Gauvain, Anna Houghton, Kate Oakley, Gillian Keenan and Haile Richards.

Commenting on her move to the Club, Mia said: “I’m so excited. I’ve enjoyed it so much so far. It’s a different city, a new place, a new league, so I’m relishing the challenge.

"I’ve gelled with the girls already. The coaching staff are really nice. As soon as I came in on trial, I said that I wanted to come back straight away, so the travelling has definitely been worth it.

“This is actually a new challenge for me because I’m coming in as a centre mid. I think that’s probably where I shine most because I’m more of a technical player with good vision.

“I’m so excited for the start of the season. It’s a new competition for me and facing teams that I haven’t played before. It will be great to see what I can do."

Following his latest addition, head coach Noah Bushby added: “Mia is another very exciting addition to our squad. When I spoke about Haile Richards’ signing, I referenced that we wanted variation in our attacking options. Our approach to the midfield is no different.

“With Mia’s arrival, we have a great mix of players in that area who have a range of qualities to their individual games but can also complement each other very well. It’s vitally important for us to have a competitive squad that are working hard every day to start at the weekend. Looking at the squad that we have at the Club, it brings a lot of excitement.”
