Cardiff City FC Soccer Schools maKe a return for Whitsun Half Term

The Whitsun edition of Cardiff City FC Soccer Schools has come to a close, marked by a whirlwind of enthusiasm and some new faces.

Open to boys and girls from Reception to Year 6, regardless of their skill level, our Soccer Schools offers children the chance to train like Bluebird during the school holidays, under the guidance of qualified coaches at the Community Foundation.

Whether your Junior Bluebird has never kicked a ball before, or if they've been playing for years, they are guaranteed to enjoy these sessions. Our camps give children the chance to meet new friends and develop their skills and technique before putting them into practice in conditioned, small-sided games.

Our summer camp dates are now live! Secure your spot here.

Rhianne Oakley
Girls Taster Day at Cardiff City House of Sport

Last week, we welcomed Cardiff City FC’s Women’s striker and Community Foundation Ambassador Rhianne Oakley to a Q&A and a special Staff vs. Learners Futsal session as part of their Girls Taster Day.

The Taster Day gave young girls aged between 16-19 the opportunity to learn more about the BTEC Sport courses they have to offer on their Further Education programme, at Cardiff City House of Sport.

Rhianne also let the girls in on her pre-game rituals, future ambitions for women’s football and the coaching expertise she’s gained from working on our Premier League Primary Stars programme.

Football festival kicked off in RCT with local youth service

Last Thursday, in partnership with RCT Council's Youth Engagement & Participation Service, the Community Foundation provided young people with a Football Festival as part of their weekly Premier League Kicks project delivery in the RCT region.

The Community Foundation invited local authority youth services and clubs to Ferndale Comprehensive School for half-term activities, lunch and refreshments and free football tournaments. A huge well done to the tournament winners, group Ferndale A!

Premier League Kicks sessions provide young people between the ages of 11-19 with access to free football games and small-sided matches in a safe environment, aiming to create opportunities for personal development.
