Bringing you the latest from Cardiff City FC Community Foundation...
A Bluebird’s Lasting Legacy
Long-standing Cardiff City supporter Scott Cunningham has chosen to leave a gift in his will to Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, to help future generations benefit from the power of football and community.
For Scott, supporting the Community Foundation goes beyond simply giving back. As a proud Scot, he shares a special connection with Cardiff City's history and the local community through fellow Scotsman, Jock Stein.
Stein tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack during Scotland's World Cup qualifier against Wales at Ninian Park in 1985. Today, his plaque stands on the Ninian Park memorial wall, commemorating his legacy at the very heart of where Cardiff City's historic stadium once stood.
Scott reflected: “I wanted to make a gesture to the Community Foundation and the Club that means a lot to me. Football is something you can enjoy no matter what else is going on in life. If I can help the Community Foundation to continue their work supporting young people, then I'll have achieved my goal.”
City Legend Visits 1927 Club
Former Bluebird Roger Gibbins paid a visit to the Community Foundation’s 1927 Club at Llanrumey hall where memories, nostalgia and a love of Cardiff City continue to bring people together.
The 1927 Club warm and welcoming social hub based at a number of locations across South Wales, designed especially for individuals living with dementia.
The 1927 Club was made possible by the Premier League and Professional Footballer's Association Players’ Fund. Administered through the Premier League Foundation, the funding helps football club charities and player foundations to work with players to tackle inequality and respond to local challenges, supporting people and their communities to be more inclusive.
Roger Gibbins said: “As Chairman of the Cardiff City Former Players Association, it was a privilege to get involved with the wonderful staff and, of course, the people in attendance.
Being able to spend time with these men and women, talk about my career, my experiences in football and life in general was incredibly rewarding. The questions they asked and the conversations we shared made me feel genuinely welcomed, and seeing the smiles on their faces was truly special.”
Over £6,000 raised in Ninan 99 Challenge
Throughout August, 77 Cardiff City supporters clocked up 99 miles each, celebrating the 99 years that Cardiff City FC called Ninian Park home.
As Cardiff City FC approaches the landmark 100th anniversary of the club's famous 1927 FA Cup victory, they turned back the clock to honour the history and heritage of Ninian Park throughout the month of the challenge.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is so grateful to everyone that took part and made a huge impact on our work to change lives and transform communities across South Wales.

Students Arrive for Induction Week
The Community Foundation welcomed its Level 2 and Level 3 Sport students for the 2026/27 academic year on the doorstep of Cardiff City FC.
Students had the opportunity to get to know one another, take part in team-building activities, and kick-start their journey in the best way they know how, with a futsal tournament.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation provides a range of courses that allow students to develop their passion for sport while gaining valuable qualifications and experiences.
The Foundation prides itself on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students can thrive, offering insight into the practicalities of the sports industry through a non-traditional learning experience.
A Mascot Experience They'll Never Forget
Our fixture against Charlton Athletic wasn’t just a match. For the first time ever, the team invited their friends and family to celebrate the work of Cardiff City FC’s official charity and showcase its impact, bringing everyone together in the red seats as one team.
Some of their youngest beneficiaries also had the unforgettable experience of walking out as mascots alongside their favourite players. They were selected for their leadership and commitment to inclusion at Cardiff City Soccer Schools over the summer holidays.
Cardiff City Soccer Schools give young Bluebirds the chance to stay active, build confidence and develop their skills in a fun, supportive environment. Every booking helps Cardiff City FC Community Foundation create more opportunities for people across our communities.
