This Sunday’s Adran Premier fixture against The New Saints will mark Iain Darbyshire’s final game as Head of Women’s & Girls Football at Cardiff City FC Women.
After six seasons leading the Bluebirds, Iain will leave his role to pursue new opportunities overseas following a period of unparalleled success in the Welsh capital.
Under his guidance, City lifted the Adran Premier title in 2023, before a historic treble-winning season in 2024, going on to win the league trophy once again in 2025. Iain led the Club to Bute Energy Welsh Cup glory in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, in addition to Adran Trophy success in 2024.
Fans are encouraged to join us for Sunday’s fixture at Cardiff International Sports Campus (4:45pm KO) to celebrate the achievements and strides made during Iain’s time at the Club. We would also like to invite supporters to the Ricoh Suite at Cardiff City Stadium after the match from 6:45pm-9pm as we gather to give Iain a fitting send-off.
The process of appointing Iain’s successor is reaching its conclusion and an announcement will be made shortly.
