FAW National League Awards | Three Bluebirds nominated

Nominations
Voting is now open for the 2024/25 Genero Adran Premier awards, with City Women head coach Iain Darbyshire, defender Shannon Evans and attacker Fiona Barry all nominated.

The voting will close at 5pm on Monday, May 19th for all three categories of Manager of the Season, Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season.

Votes will be combined with an independent panel and the winners will be announced at the FAW National Leagues Awards on Saturday, June 7th.

Iain Darbyshire
MANAGER OF THE SEASON NOMINEE | IAIN DARBYSHIRE

City Women head coach Iain Darbyshire has led the Bluebirds to a third consecutive Adran Premier title, as well as winning the Bute Energy Welsh Cup for a fourth consecutive year.

Darbyshire has played an integral part in the success and growth of the Women's programme at the Club and will lead City in another UEFA Women's Champions League campaign.

Iain commented: "I'm delighted to have been nominated for Manager of the Season. I'd like to wish my congratulations to Rhys James and Shauna Duffy as well. It's been a great year and I'm proud of our achievements. Shannon and Fiona's nominations are fully deserved and we're really pleased for them."

Shannon Evans
PLAYER OF THE SEASON NOMINEE | SHANNON EVANS

Having returned to the Club in the summer of 2024, Shannon Evans had a stellar season at the heart of defence.

Playing a key role in our league and domestic cup success, Evans was named City Women Player of the Season at the end of the campaign.

Reacting to her nomination, Shannon said: "I’m extremely grateful to be shortlisted for the award. It could have been so many other players, so to be in the top three nominees means a lot to me. It would be amazing to win it, but I’m very grateful to even be nominated. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates by my side, as well as Iain and the staff pushing me to be my best."

Fiona Barry
YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON NOMINEE | FIONA BARRY

Attacker Fiona Barry was right at home after signing for the Club in the summer of 2024, impressing in her first season as a Bluebird.

She ended the campaign with nine goals in 20 league appearances, with 13 goals in 29 matches in all competitions.

After her nomination, Fiona stated: "I'm extremely grateful to have been nominated and would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me this season."
