Dimitrios Goutas speaks to the press

Goutas pre-Bristol City | We must play with passion and heart

Interviews
Dimitrios Goutas spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship clash against Bristol City on Saturday.

"Derbies are always special." Dimi began. "The fans, they want the win. As players, we have to give everything on the pitch to give a gift to the fans.

"They follow us everywhere. They support us in the bad times and in the good times, so we have to give everything to get a better result.

"You have to give everything; you play with passion, with heart. That is what we have to do. We will give everything in each game, and I think we have to focus on each game to get the best result."

The Bluebirds head into Saturday's clash on the back of a 2-1 home win over Stoke City last weekend.

Dimi continued: "The atmosphere in the team is very good, very nice. We have to keep winning to keep this atmosphere. We have our confidence, and we have to take the positives and continue.

"If we continue winning, you know this league - if you win two or three games you are high, if you have two or three defeats, you are down. We have to look step-by-step at what we can do best.

"Football is like that. If you hit the post and the ball goes out, or you concede a goal, your confidence is low. But when you score, it's a totally different feeling. We have our fighting spirit back, which is very important."

Dimi also spoke about his experience of living in Cardiff and playing in the Championship since his arrival in the summer.

"I really enjoy it. My experience until now has been very good. The city, the Club, everything is amazing. Macca and Nat are both very good players, very good guys. I really enjoy playing with both of them. Only the weather is not so good, but I'm getting used to it!

"In my career until now, I can see that every year I have improved myself. I think I can give more to the team; I feel that I have more to give. When I adapt more to the league, I will improve myself, so I want to keep learning.

"Everywhere I have been, I have adapted myself very fast. Here the tempo is very high, and I can follow the tempo now that I feel stronger."
