Perry Ng spoke to the press after City’s 3-2 victory against Huddersfield Town, which marked the Bluebirds’ fourth home league win in a row.
“I thought the first half we blew them away and probably should’ve scored a couple more.” Perry began. “It’s always tougher as a younger group to find ways to win, but today we were outstanding."
As one of the more experienced players in the City squad, the 29-year-old was asked about how his younger teammates have been adapting to the league, as well as the competition they have created in the squad.
“I think the way the younger players have coped so far has been brilliant. Brian [Barry-Murphy] helps them along. We don’t really need to guide them that much, because they are flying.
“I’m loving every second of it at the minute. It’s a joy to have Brian here, and the way we’re playing now, I think everyone is enjoying it.
“The way we play now, it’s such a high demand, it’s so intense. Every day training is intense. Brian likes to change the players quite a lot, so everyone needs to be ready. We all need to keep fit, keep healthy, and hopefully we’ll keep winning.”
City return to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to face Stevenage. Perry spoke about how important the fixture will be, given the busy period ahead.
“It's a big game on Tuesday.” Perry said. “It’ll be different to today’s game. They are a lot more physical, so it’ll be a big test, but we’ll go there and play the way we play.
“We’ve got a lot of games coming up; it’s mad, but I think if we can get through this period still at the top of the table, hopefully we’ll kick on and really get a good, strong end to the season.
“This is always the toughest part of the season, so if we can keep playing the way we are, keep putting teams under pressure and hopefully keep everyone fit, I think we’ll have a great chance.”
