City midfielder Leandro Bacuna made two appearances for Curaçao as they played Haiti over two legs in the CONCACAF Nations League. The Curaçaoan side defeated Haiti 1-0 at home on Saturday, September 7th, and drew 1-1 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Monday September 10th. Curaçao now lead their group with four points and will face Costa Rica in October.

Captaining Canada against Cuba in their match on Saturday, September 7th, Junior led the Canuks to a 6-0 victory at the BMO Field, Toronto. The winger scored a hat-trick against the Lions of the Caribbean, and the national side went on to defeat Cuba once again three days later at a score of 1-0 in the Cayman Islands.

Will Vaulks

Spending Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifying match against Azerbaijan as an unused sub on Friday, September 6th, Will Vaulks made an appearance in the second half in an international friendly against Belarus on the following Monday. His appearance helped Wales to a clean sheet against the Eastern European side, and with it their second successive win, following Wales’ goal early in the first half.

Facing Luxembourg on Thursday, September 5th, Gavin Whyte started alongside Ciaron Brown – who was making his debut – for Northern Ireland. Brown played the full 90 minutes in the international friendly as the Green and White Army defeated Luxembourg 1-0 at Windsor Park.

Whyte earned another cap against Germany days later, coming onto the field as a substitute on the hour mark, with his side eventually losing 2-0 at home against Joachim Löw’s men.

Wales U21

Wales’ U21 starting lineup against Belgium on Friday, September 6th featured three City Academy players, as George Ratcliffe, Cameron Coxe and Mark Harris all took to the pitch to face Belgium in an U21 European Championship Qualifier at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham.

The young Wales side recorded a 1-0 victory against Belgium on Friday, and were defeated 5-1 by Germany on the following Monday, with the same three City players in the starting lineup.
