Wales bow out of Nations League 'A'

Rubin Colwill came off the bench during Wales' narrow 1-0 loss to Poland at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday evening.

The midfielder was introduced with 18 minutes remaining for his seventh international cap, but, despite looking lively, could not help Wales maintain their League 'A' status.

Neither Colwill nor Mark Harris featured in Wales' other fixture during the window, a 2-1 defeat to Belgium in Brussels on September 22nd.

The results mean that Wales finish bottom of Group A4, and will return to League 'B' for the 2024/25 edition of the tournament.

Callum Robinson
Robinson features twice for Republic of Ireland

Callum Robinson made two substitute appearances as the Republic of Ireland consolidated their position in League 'B'.

The attacker came off the bench for the final 13 minutes of the Republic's 2-1 defeat to Scotland at Hampden Park, before earning another cap during the Green Army's 3-2 win over Armenia.

Callum O'Dowda was also named in Stephen Kenny's squad for the first time since November 2020, but did not make an appearance during the break.

Ireland's results sees them maintain their League 'B' status for the third consecutive campaign, with another third place finish.

Whyte on the scoresheet for Northern Ireland

Gavin Whyte netted his fifth goal for Northern Ireland in a 2-1 win over Kosovo, whilst also providing the assist for Josh Magennis' winner.

Whyte was introduced from the bench with 14 minutes to go and made a devastating impact, turning the game around with two goal contributions to give Northern Ireland all three points.

The Green and White Army were defeated by Greece in their final fixture of the Nations League campaign, but avoided relegation to League 'D' by the virtue of goal difference, with Cyprus finishing bottom of Group C2.

Colwill, Crole and Wigley score for Wales U19s

Joel Colwill, Morgan Wigley and James Crole were all on target for Wales U19s during their emphatic 9-2 victory over Gibraltar.

The Young Dragons finished third in their U19 EURO qualifying group, with a home defeat to the Republic of Ireland seeing them narrowly miss out on a Play-Off spot.

However, the side rounded off their campaign with a strong performance at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground, with Crole netting twice and Wigley and Colwill both also on target.
