Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to announce the arrival of attacking midfielder Jack Moylan on a permanent transfer from Lincoln City, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old becomes Brian Barry-Murphy’s second summer signing, after Nathan Trott joined the Club permanently back in May. Moylan arrives in the Welsh capital for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year deal which will run until the summer of 2030.
Jack enjoyed a stellar Sky Bet League One campaign with the Imps last time out, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists as Lincoln earned automatic promotion to the second tier alongside the Bluebirds. The exciting playmaker was named in the League One Team of the Season alongside City’s Joel Bagan, and was also nominated for the division’s Player of the Season Award.
Jack also made quite the impression on his international debut for the Republic of Ireland at the end of last season, netting a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Grenada on May 16th. He also scored in his second appearance for the Boys in Green, finding the target against Qatar later that month.
Speaking to Cardiff City TV after putting pen to paper, Jack said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. It’s such a massive football club – in Ireland growing up, you watch Cardiff City as a Premier League club, so I’m absolutely over the moon to be here.
“There were a lot of factors. It’s such a big Club, such a nice city, and Brian [Barry-Murphy] has such a good reputation. The way he plays football, I think I’ll really enjoy it. I’ve watched the team a lot over the last year, and watched last weekend against Roma, and the football speaks for itself.
“Last year I played a lot in the ten and off the left for Lincoln - I naturally drift to that side. I think the shape here will really suit me, because it’s a footballing team who like to be versatile. When you’re playing with such a good team, surrounded by players who are on the same wavelength as you, it’s going to be really enjoyable.”
