Chairman: Mick Buckley
Director Of Football: Craig Cope
Manager: Johnnie Jackson
Assistant Manager: Terry Skiverton
First Team Coach: Dave Reddington
Goalkeeping Coach: Ashley Bayes

AFC Wimbledon appointed manager Johnnie Jackson in May 2022. Primarily a midfielder in his playing days, Jackson made his debut at Tottenham Hotspur in 1999. After a series of loans including Coventry City, Watford and Derby County, the AFC Wimbledon boss would settle at Colchester United in 2006. After a year at Notts County in 2009, Jackson would find a home at Charlton Athletic. Across an impressive eight year tenure at the club, he would make 243 appearance for the Addicks, scoring 51 times.

Jackson was appointed as caretaker manager of Charlton Athletic in October 2021, and as an early Christmas present, was named as the permanent manager in December. He departed the club though in May of 2022, and in the same month joined AFC Wimbledon. After three seasons in League Two, Jackson led his side to promotion back to League One in the 2024/25 season via the play-offs.

AFC Wimbledon compete against Reading...

Despite a 1-0 loss to Luton Town on opening night, AFC Wimbledon responded well, picking up a 2-0 win at home to Lincoln City. Forward Matty Stevens scored from the spot before half time. Defender Nathan Asiimwe would finish the game off with a well placed finish in the second half. In the Carabao Cup against Gillingham, both sides would score once and were taken to penalties. AFC Wimbledon would be victorious, with Alistair Smith securing the winning penalty that would take them to the next round.

On Saturday, AFC Wimbledon were away at Reading. Stevens headed in the opener for AFC Wimbledon in the 32nd minute, as Marcus Browne would score the second in the 70th minute. Reading would score in the final few minutes, but the Dons managed to secure the three points. They currently sit 10th in League One.

Craig Noone celebrates his goal for City...
IN DAYS GONE BY

11/08/15 | Cardiff City 1-0 AFC Wimbledon

The two Clubs have only faced off seven occasions competitively, with one game coming since AFC Wimbledon's rise back through the leagues.

This was a League Cup game in 2015 at Cardiff City Stadium, with former Bluebird Neal Ardley in the dugout for the Wombles.

We've seen some magic free-kicks from Rubin Colwill this season, but in 2015, it was left-footed wizards who took the set pieces for the Bluebirds.

On this occasion, it was winger Craig Noone who delighted the crowd with a beautiful free-kick for the only goal of the match.

Cardiff City: Wilson, Peltier, Morrison, Connolly, Fábio, Noone, Gunnarsson, O’Keefe, Ameobi (Harris 73), Revell (Jones 67), Doyle. Subs not used: Moore, Ajayi, Ralls, Kennedy, Mason.

AFC Wimbledon: Shea, Fuller, Nightingale, Robinson, Kennedy, Francomb (Barcham 69), Bulman, Meades, Rigg, Akinfenwa (Elliott 69), Taylor (Azeez 69). Subs not used: McDonnell, Reeves, Fitzpatrick, Osborne.

Nathan Trott, on goal for AFC Wimbledon...
SHARED CONNECTIONS

The atmosphere of the Cherry Red Records Stadium is known to City shot stopper Nathan Trott, who’s first taste of senior football came on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

“I was a different keeper then than I am now. It will be interesting to go back and maybe see a few familiar faces. Since then I’ve matured and become a completely different person. I have a lot of good memories there.”

Sticking with the loan theme, the Bluebirds have let the Wombles borrow five different players since the Club returned to the Football League in 2011.

Forward Jesse Darko finished the 2013 season with the Dons while 2015 saw Adedeji Oshilaja, Semi Ajayi and Ben Wilson all spend time at the Club.

The most recent loan saw goalkeeper Joe Day, who City may come up against later this month when they face Cheltenham Town, link up with AFC Wimbledon in early 2020.

Other notable players to play for both the Dons and the Bluebirds include the aforementioned Neal Ardley, Mark Kennedy, Jobi McAnuff, Romaine Sawyers, Chris Gunter, Rhys Weston & Jonathan Meades.
