Scott Parker began his playing career with Charlton Athletic. He would spend the majority of his playing days in the top flight with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
It was with the Whites that Parker would begin his managerial career in 2019. He led Fulham to promotion at the first time of asking, before moving to AFC Bournemouth. His second promotion was secured in 2021/22, finishing runners-up to his former team.
After a short spell at Club Brugge, Parker's next team were the Clarets, replacing Vincent Kompany. He immediately led Burnley back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, finishing second in the Championship.

IN DAYS GONE BY
20/04/13 | Burnley 1-1 Cardiff City
It's fair to share the Clarets have edged the most recent clashes between the two sides, and while we'd normally look at an impressive City win against our opposition in these previews, we instead focus this time on a hugely important draw.
The Bluebirds arrived at Turf Moor in the middle of April 2013 in great spirits, having won promotion to the top flight in a 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, April 16th.
Scottish winger Craig Conway gave us the lead and while David Edgar scored a late equaliser, it wasn't enough to stop City from becoming league champions! City would draw all of their final four games in that incredible campaign.
Cardiff City: Marshall, McNaughton, Barnett, Turner, Taylor, Gunnarsson, Mutch (Cowie 74'), Kim, Conway, Noone (Bellamy 66'), Gestede. Subs Not Used: Lewis, Nugent, Lappin, Whittingham, Mason.
