Bolton Wanderers are currently fourth in the Sky Bet League One table, having played 41 times this term. They are eight points behind the Bluebirds and have played one game more. Wanderers have an eight point buffer to those outside of the play-offs with five games remaining.
They have taken nine points from their last six league matches, defeating Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle, while drawing with Doncaster Rovers, Rotherham United and fellow promotion challengers Stockport County.
Their last league game was that draw with the Hatters on Monday afternoon, which followed up their win over Plymouth Argyle from Good Friday.
Current boss Steven Schumacher has been in charge of the Club since January of 2025.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | THE WANDERERS
On-loan Hull City man Mason Burstow is the current top goal-scorer of Bolton Wanderers, having netted 11 times in the league from 40 appearances. He's been on the substitutes bench as of late, but after making an impact against Plymouth Argyle and Stockport County he will be hoping for a recall.
Sam Dalby and Johnny Kenny have been the preferred attackers in recent times. Dalby joined the Club from Wrexham last summer and has ten league goals while Kenny has three strikes from 10 appearances since signing on loan from Celtic in January.
Amario Cozier-Duberry was their star man in the first half of the campaign, but an injury ruled him out from the end of January until Monday's draw with the Hatters. The winger is on loan for the season from Brighton & Hove Albion, and scored the late winner when the Bluebirds visited Bolton earlier this campaign.
Defender George Johnston has started the most games for Bolton Wanderers this term, beginning 39 of 41 league matches. Though he did miss their last match due to illness.

IN DAYS GONE BY
The last time the Bluebirds and Wanderers met in April was back in 2016. City, under the management of Russell Slade, were hoping for a late surge to the play-offs. Wanderers were suffering at the other end of the table, and would eventually be relegated, but it was the away side at Cardiff City Stadium that struck first through Zach Clough.
The second half saw the resurgent Bluebirds level via Kenneth Zohore's run and finish. The game reached the 90th minute, and City were given the chance to win it from the penalty spot. Peter Whittingham stepped up, and, as he regularly did, made no mistake with the set piece, firing the Bluebirds to victory.
