KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | SEASON SO FAR
Burton Albion are the only Club in the league to have just played eight games so far this season, with international call-ups altering their originally scheduled fixtures against City and Rotherham United.
They have one win, two draws and five defeats thus far, with their single league victory coming on the opening day, beating Mansfield Town, 2-1, on August 2nd.
The Brewers did win their opening Vertu Trophy game of the campaign, defeating Liverpool 21s, 2-0, earlier this month. They reached the second round of the Carabao Cup, having beaten Tranmere Rovers on penalties, before falling to Lincoln City.

IN DAYS GONE BY
05/08/17 | Burton Albion 0-1 Cardiff City
Our competitive match history with the Brewers only goes back to 2010, with City defeating Burton Albion, 4-1, in the league cup on that occasion. To date, in the six games we've played against them, City have four wins and two defeats.
Three of these games came during City's remarkable 2017/18 campaign. While the Brewers got the best of City in the cup, Neil Warnock's brilliant Bluebirds managed two victories in the league.
In today's preview, we take a look back at the first game of that season. Warnock's side went to the Pirelli Stadium for their opening encounter of the campaign with expectations high.
This was the first competitive City game for Neil Etheridge, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Danny Ward, Loïc Damour and Lee Tomlin.
They came up against a defiant Brewers side though, who managed to quell the magic of Tomlin on that day and keep City at bay.
Until, up stepped City's talisman and number 10, Kenneth Zohore, taking his first competitive outing in that shirt. And he certainly earned it on that day. With just three minutes remaining, Zohore picked the ball up just outside the box, took a touch to evade his marker and fired the ball low into the net, right in front of the travelling Bluebirds fans.
City: Etheridge, Peltier, Bamba, Morrison, Manga (Mendez-Laing 65'), Bennett, Gunnarsson, Ralls, Hoilett (Ward 80'), Tomlin (Damour 65'), Zohore. Subs Not Used: Murphy, Halford, Richards, Pilkington.
