He has also had two spells as manager (and a caretaker manager stint) of Peterborough United previously.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | SEASON SO FAR
Doncaster Rovers arrive at CCS in 19th place in the Sky Bet League One table, having played 19 league fixtures so far. They've won six, drawn four, and lost nine times.
Rovers haven't won away in the league since a one-nil away win at Port Vale on August 23rd. They have had more luck on the road in cup competitions in recent times though, picking up the victory over Chesterfield in the Emirates FA Cup Second Round last weekend.
Their top league scorer is the ever present Owen Bailey with five strikes. He has two more goals than his closest rivals in the team.
Midfielder Charlie Crew, on loan from Leeds United, came through City's Academy before departing for the Whites in 2022. He has made 10 appearances this season, and has two Welsh senior caps to his name.

IN DAYS GONE BY
30/01/2010 | Cardiff City 2-1 Doncaster Rovers
Rovers' first visit to Cardiff City Stadium came during January of 2010.
The Bluebirds took the lead early on through Michael Chopra and held the advantage until the 65th minute, when Gareth Roberts levelled the encounter.
It looked like Rovers would take a point from their trip to the Welsh capital until Jay Bothroyd popped up with a 90th minute winner for the City.
Two interesting points of note in the Doncaster Rovers side from that day. Former Bluebird Jordon Mutch was in the squad for them, as was Billy Sharp, who could feature for Rovers this weekend having joined the Club for the fourth time in 2024.
City: Marshall, Matthews, Gyepes, Gerrard, Kennedy (McNaughton 77'), Burke (Taiwo 77'), Rae (Blake 66'), Whittingham, Bothroyd, Chopra, McCormack. Subs Not Used: Enckelman, Quinn, Capaldi, Feeney.
Doncaster Rovers: Sullivan, Hird, O'Connor, Chambers, Roberts, Oster (Mutch 88'), Stock, Wilson, Coppinger (Hayter 85'), Sharp, Shiels (Webster 90'). Subs Not Used: Smith, Guy, Spicer, Heffernan.
