KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | SEASON SO FAR
Leyton Orient have had mixed fortunes this term. They currently sit 17th in the League One table, with three wins, two draws and five defeats from their opening ten matches.
Two of their league wins have come away from home, while they have also picked up a victory on the road, against Peterborough United, in the Vertu Trophy. Their last win came on September 6th - a 3-2 away win at Port Vale.
The away side are likely to have a Bluebirds Academy graduate in their ranks this weekend. Tom James made his City First Team debut in our Premier League clash against Chelsea during May of 2014. He would move to Yeovil Town in 2017, before spells at Hibernian, Wigan Athletic and Salford City. James joined Leyton Orient during the summer of 2021. As well as defending, Tom is known for his set piece ability.

28/08/07 | Cardiff City 1-0 Leyton Orient
Our last competitive match against the O's came in the League Cup in 2007/08.
Current Leyton Orient Assistant Head Coach Paul Terry featured for the away side that day. The cup tie at Ninian Park went down to the very last minute, when Peter Whittingham powered in at the near post beyond Stuart Nelson, who had kept his team in it with a masterful goalkeeping performance.
Robbie Fowler and Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink made their Bluebirds bows on that evening.
City: Turnbull, Gunter, Purse (Blake 45'), Johnson, Capaldi, Parry, Rae, McPhail, Whittingham, Hasselbaink, Fowler (MacLean 90'). Subs Not Used: Oakes, Ledley, Ramsey.

an interesting snippet
As previously mentioned, the Bluebirds and the O's haven't faced off since 2007. But this won't be Orient's first ever visit to Cardiff City Stadium.
The O's were victorious at our CCS home against Newport County in League Two during March of 2021, when the Exiles temporarily borrowed our ground as work was underway on their Rodney Parade home.
Forward Conor Wilkinson scored the only goal of the game on that day.
