59-year-old Nigel Clough continued his playing career and began his life as a manager with Burton Albion in 1998.

IN DAYS GONE BY
16/01/2018 | Mansfield Town 1-4 Cardiff City
Our last clash with the Stags was in the FA Cup in 2018. Town had held out to a 0-0 draw at Cardiff City Stadium to take the Bluebirds to a replay.
The two teams found out two days after the original game that Premier League giants Manchester City would be awaiting the winners of the replay in Round Four.
Neil Warnock named a strong Bluebirds line-up for the trip to Field Mill on a bitterly cold January night.
City took the lead in the first half through Bruno Ecuele Manga, but the away side were pegged back immediately by Danny Rose.
A second half double from Junior Hoilett and an Anthony Pilkington strike was enough though for the Bluebirds to progress 4-1 victors.
City: Etheridge, Richards, Manga, Morison, Bennett, Damour, Ralls (Halford 74'), Paterson, Hoilett (Healey 90'), Pilkington, Zohore (Bogle 85'). Subs Not Used: Murphy, Feeney, Mendez-Laing, Tomlin.
