NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN SO SOON

The Bluebirds and the Boro last faced off... well, only 20 days before Monday evening's CCS fixture. Having managed to avoid each other competitively previously, it's now two battles in less than a month.

Brian Barry-Murphy's men went to Stevenage, who had yet to taste defeat at home in the league in 2025/26 before City's visit.

It was a hyper competitive match, with chances at a premium. It always felt like a moment of magic would be needed to break the deadlock, and that came late on.

Callum Robinson entered the game from the bench and settled it with a piece of quality. Robbo plucked the ball out of the air following Omari Kellyman's deflected cross field pass, taking a touch to control the ball before firing towards goal, besting Filip Marschall, to give the Bluebirds the lead, and eventually all three points.

The Boro have played three times since the Bluebirds defeated them in Hertfordshire.

They went to Stockport County and recorded an impressive 3-1 win.

Stevenage then drew twice, firstly 2-2 against Burton Albion, before a 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day.

Revell's side sit fifth in Sky Bet League One having played 20 times. They are eight points behind City, but hold a game in hand.

They have two games in hand on the team currently occupying the final automatic promotion spot, Lincoln City, who are five points ahead of Stevenage at this stage.
