The Hammers visit the Welsh capital on the back of two home defeats. Their latest loss, a 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, saw them drop to eighth in the table.

As a result, United opted to part ways with boss Nuno Espírito Santo, who had taken charge in September 2025. Mark Noble has been installed as caretaker manager for tomorrow's clash.

Relegated from the Premier League last season, West Ham remain unbeaten on the road this term and are the division’s highest scorers after thirteen matches.

Jarrod Bowen
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | WEST HAM UNITED

England international Jarrod Bowen leads the Hammers’ scoring and assist charts and has the second most goal contributions in the Championship. He was on the scoresheet in the 3-1 defeat to West Brom last time out.

The Irons also boast plenty of firepower at the back in Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos, the latter already on five goals this season, but is a doubt for our midweek meeting. They may also be without experienced full-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who left the pitch injured last weekend.

In midfield, the young pairing of Divine Mukasa and Arne Engels is developing well. Engels joined from Celtic in the summer and has made 14 appearances so far this season, scoring three times.

Former Swansea City striker Joël Piroe has been a regular off the bench during his loan from Leeds United. His last goal came in the 6-0 win over Wrexham, and he also featured in the 1-0 victory over our South Wales rivals.

IN DAYS GONE BY | PREMIER LEAGUE DELIGHT

The last time the Bluebirds faced the Hammers was a Premier League fixture, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side visiting South Wales in March 2019.

Needing a win after three straight defeats, City made the perfect start. After just four minutes, Victor Camarasa played a lovely ball into the feet of Josh Murphy, who whipped it into the box first time, and Junior Hoilett made no mistake from close range.

City kept the pressure on with the Bluebirds faithful behind them, and Oumar Niasse’s effort flew just over the bar. The momentum stayed with the hosts, and Neil Etheridge wasn’t required to make a single save in the first half.

City made the brighter start to the second period and deservedly got their second. The same three combined again, this time in reverse order: Hoilett’s cross was headed down by Murphy, and Camarasa slid in to finish.

The chances kept coming for City, but Niasse couldn’t convert either of his late efforts. Declan Rice had a long-range shot kept out by the post and Etheridge made a superb save late on, but City held firm to take the three points they deserved and dent the visitors’ hopes of reaching the Europa League.
