David Wagner on the touchline for Norwich City
OPPOSITION FOCUS | IN THE DUGOUT

Norwich City’s manager is David Wagner, who was appointed in January 2023.

During his playing days, Wagner represented the likes of Mainz and Schalke, whilst also earning eight caps for the USA national team.

After switching to coaching, he worked with current Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and was named manager of Borussia Dortmund II in July 2011.

The German moved to Huddersfield Town in 2015, where he led the Terriers to promotion to the Premier League in 2017 and achieved survival in the top-flight in the following year.

Since leaving Huddersfield in 2019, Wagner has had managerial roles at Schalke and Young Boys, prior to his move to Carrow Road earlier this year.

Since taking over the Canaries, he has won 24 of his 59 games in charge, with a win percentage of 40.68%.

The Canaries have recorded 13 points from their last six games, leaving them fifth in the form table.

Norwich City have had a positive record at Carrow Road this season, winning ten of their 16 home matches.

OPPOSITION FOCUS | KEY PLAYERS

The Canaries’ top scorer this season is Jonathan Rowe, who has netted on 12 occasions in the Sky Bet Championship this campaign.

However, Saturday’s hosts have been dealt an injury blow, as Rowe is set for a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Brazilian playmaker Sara has also impressed this season, having netted six league goals.

He has also been a key provider for the Canaries, recording nine assists in the league.

David Marshall in action for Cardiff City
CLUB CONNECTION | DAVID MARSHALL

After coming through the ranks at Celtic, goalkeeper David Marshall joined Norwich City on a permanent basis in 2007, having previously had a loan spell at the Club.

The shot-stopper quickly made an impression on his way to 92 league appearances for the Canaries. In the 2007/08 season, he was the only member of the squad to have played every minute of every game in the campaign.

Following Norwich’s relegation, Marshall became a Bluebird in May 2009, going on to become an incredibly astute signing.

The Scotsman was part of the side that earned promotion to the Premier League in 2013 and adapted well to the top-tier, as he was named in Sky Sports’ Premier League Team of the Year, as well as earning Cardiff City’s Player of the Year Award.

A fantastic servant to the Club, Marshall departed the Welsh capital in 2016 having made 264 league appearances for City.
