Jack Wilshere
OPPOSITION FOCUS | IN THE DUGOUT

Norwich City’s Interim Manager is Jack Wilshere, who was appointed as interim boss last week following Johannes Thorup’s departure.

Wilshere enjoyed a successful playing career representing the likes of AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United and most notably Arsenal.

During his time at the Gunners, he won two FA Cups, an FA Community Shield and was named PFA Young Player of the Year. He also made over 30 international appearances for England.

After being forced to retire through injury at the age of 30, the former midfielder became head coach of Arsenal U18s and in his first season in charge, he guided the team to runners-up in the 2022/23 FA Youth Cup.

In October 2024, Wilshere joined Norwich City as a First Team Coach under Thorup. Following his dismissal last week, Wilshere stepped up as the club’s Interim Manager.

The 33-year-old has taken charge of one match so far, in which his side drew 0-0 to Middlesbrough.

CITY FLASHBACK

The Bluebirds displayed a superb second half performance to come from behind and claim all three points against the Canaries on December 1st, 2017.

Marco Stiepermann put the Canaries ahead shortly before half time, with a left footed half-volley from range.

But the Bluebirds found an equaliser shortly after the break, when Joe Ralls calmly dispatched from spot.

City continued to push forward, Junior Hoilett gave the Bluebirds a one-goal lead through a volley from inside the box and not long later, Omar Bogle doubled City’s advantage with a tidy finish inside the area.

The 3-1 victory was the Bluebirds' tenth home league match unbeaten, which proved vital as City went on to gain promotion later that season.
