Recognised as the oldest professional football club in the world, Notts County were founded in 1862 and were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888. Nicknamed the 'Magpies’, they reached their first FA Cup final back in 1891 and secured their only Cup success in 1894.

Their most recent season in the top flight came back in the 1991/92 season, under the leadership of future Bluebirds boss, Neil Warnock. Suffering relegation into non-league in 2019, County won promotion back to the EFL in 2023 and have seen steady progress since their return.

They finished in 14th position in their first season back in League Two, and last season saw them finish in fifth place, earning a place in the Play-Offs, where they fell to a 2-0 loss on aggregate to eventual winners, AFC Wimbledon.
