CLUB CONNECTIONS
Our match history with our opponents is usually discussed during these sections of the match preview each week, but in Stevenage's case, this isn't possible.
The Bluebirds and the Boro have never faced off competitively before.
By the end of December, we will have done so twice, with the return league fixture taking place at Cardiff City Stadium on December 29th.
For this edition, we will be taking a look at players to have featured for both City and Stevenage.
In 2024/25, City's Eli King spent the season on loan with the Boro. The midfielder made 27 league appearances in League One during the temporary spell.
Winger Jobi McAnuff finished his career with Leyton Orient. He was to have two spells at the Club, leaving for Stevenage after two seasons, before immediately returning to Brisbane Road at the conclusion of the 2016/17 campaign. Similarly, he only spent one season with the Bluebirds, during 2004/05.
City academy graduate Ben Nugent had a two-year spell with the Boro between 2018-2020. He left the Welsh capital in 2015, having played 12 times in the league for Cardiff City, including a number of important appearances during our 2012/13 Championship winning campaign.
Others to have appeared for both City and the Boro include Miguel Comminges and Wayne O'Sullivan, as well as the aforementioned current boss of Stevenage, Alex Revell.
