IN DAYS GONE BY
04/11/2001 | Wrexham 1-3 Cardiff City
The Bluebirds and the Red Dragons haven't been in the same league as each other since the 2001/02 campaign.
Their first battle of that season came in November, with the Bluebirds heading to North Wales. The two teams fought it out, with eight yellow cards shown during the 90 minutes.
It was Alan Cork's side who came out victorious in the end, with Gavin Gordon, Graham Kavanagh and Leo Fortune-West netting on the day.
City: Alexander, Gabbidon, Prior, Weston (Young 78'), Legg, Boland, Kavanagh, Bowen (Hamilton 31'), Brayson, Earnshaw, Gordon (Fortune-West 40').
City were also winners at Ninian Park later on that year, picking up the three points by a 3-2 scoreline in March 2002.
During the same season, the two sides also met in Wrexham for the FAW Premier Cup Semi-Final. The Bluebirds would triumph on penalties following a 1-1 draw and go on to win the tournament, defeating Swansea City in the final.
