Head Coach: Michael Duff
First Team Coach: Tom Hounsell
First Team Coach: Alex Morris
Head of Goalkeeping: Ross Atkins

A name familiar to South Wales football fans following his short spell with Swansea City, Michael Duff became Head Coach of the Chairboys in September 2025.

The Northern Irishman, who earned 24 caps for his country, enjoyed a 20-year playing career representing only two clubs: Cheltenham Town (1996-2004) and Burnley (2004-2016). It was with the former of those two entities that he began his managerial career in 2018, guiding Cheltenham to promotion to League One during his four-year stay.

In 2022, Duff moved on to Barnsley, only missing out on promotion to the Championship via a 1-0 Play-Off Final defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in May 2023. He was named Swansea City manager ahead of the 2023/24 season but would be gone by December ’23 following a difficult spell that included a 2-0 South Wales derby defeat to the Bluebirds at Cardiff City Stadium.

Prior to taking post at Wycombe, Duff spent most of the 2024/25 campaign at Huddersfield Town before being relieved of his duties back in March.

Sam Bell
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | THE CHAIRBOYS

Wanderers finished last season’s League One campaign in a very respectable fifth place, losing out over two legs to eventual promoted side, Charlton Athletic.

At the halfway point of this season, they again have eyes on a top six spot, currently sitting in ninth place on 29 points, a little adrift from eight place Luton Town who are six points ahead of them.

Former Bristol City-man Sam Bell leads the way for the Chairboys in the scoring stakes with six League goals to his name thus far, with Fred Onyedinma just behind him on five. Midfielder Luke Leahy and defender Jack Grimmer have the honour of having played in all 22 League One fixtures this season to date. Will Norris has taken charge of the gloves during the second quarter of this campaign after Dutchman Mikki van Sas began the term as number one.

Wycombe’s form is patchy at best. They drew 1-1 at struggling Plymouth Argyle on Monday night, but prior to that had tasted victory just once in seven games dating back to mid-November.

The history of Cardiff City...
IN DAYS GONE BY

21/02/95 | Cardiff City 2-0 Wycombe Wanderers

Somewhat surprisingly, City and Wycombe have only faced off competitively against each other on eleven occasions since the first time in 1976. The Bluebirds lead the head-to-head by seven wins to three, with a solitary draw coming in March 2000.

That aforementioned first fixture in ’76 was an FA Cup tie at Ninian Park that City edged 1-0, whilst the first League meeting between the two sides came almost 20 years later as Wanderers saw off City 3-1 at Adams Park.

In the return fixture in South Wales, Terry Yorath’s Bluebirds won 2-0 in front of 3,000 fans courtesy of goals from Carl Dale and Nicky Richardson. This was in the old Division 2 at the time (now League One) and City would be relegated at the end of the season as one of five demoted teams. Wycombe finished just outside the Play-Off places in sixth spot.
