In Memory of Martin Barnes (1955-2026)
Martin had two great loves in his life: his family and Cardiff City Football Club. A devoted Bluebird from a young age, he followed Cardiff City throughout his life.
From Division Four to the Premier League, Martin travelled the length and breadth of the country to support his team, as well as making memorable trips abroad when Cardiff City played in Europe.
Sadly, Parkinson’s disease and a stroke eventually prevented him from attending matches, but his passion for the club never faded.
Through supporting Cardiff City, Martin made many lifelong friends, and our family was deeply grateful that so many of them attended his funeral.
Martin’s family are proud to sponsor the Match Ball in his memory, celebrating his life and his enduring love for all things Cardiff City.
