Alex Robertson spoke to the press after the Bluebirds took a point home from the Riverside Stadium.
"Obviously it was very good to go 2-0 up in the first half, but second half it was disappointing to concede the two goals." Alex began. "I think the boys showed great fight to protect our goal and try and get a result out of the game, and that’s what we’ve done. I’m proud of the boys for that.
"In the first half, we did go 2-0 up but we didn’t really play as much as we wanted to. They were a good pressing team, they were all over us a little bit, and obviously we had two quality goals and two moments of brightness from the boys which put us ahead.
"The message at half time was to go out and do even more than we did in the first half, not take our foot off the pedal and just keep trying to push. We tried our best, but they scored the two goals and it was a draw.
"I’m really proud of the boys, we dug in really deep. We protected our goal, put our bodies on the line, and that’s all we can do."
Alex led the side out today in the absence of Calum Chambers, Rubin Colwill and Perry Ng, and spoke about his pride at wearing the armband, plus some well-deserved praise for the 893 travelling fans.
He said: "I think that’s my first professional game as a captain, so it's a really proud moment for me. The boys have really helped me; I’ve got really good leaders behind me like Osh and Krystian, which made it pretty easy. But, the main thing was to get a result, which we did.
"I feel like some games this season, we’ve been dominating teams and we haven’t been getting the results. I feel like a few games, like the Watford and Charlton games, have been coming. We’ve just got to keep building on it and keep punishing teams like that.
"Its a long way, a really long way! We see it at every away game and every home game, and we appreciate it so much. They’re behind us all the time, and I know a few away games haven’t gone our way but they’re still behind us and cheering us. We really appreciate it, and it doesn’t go unnoticed."
