Steve Morison

Morison pre-Huddersfield Town | We'll focus on ourselves

Interviews
Bluebirds boss Steve Morison spoke to the press to preview our trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, opening with a fitness update.

"Joe Ralls will be highly unlikely to be available for Saturday, but he will be back after the international break." Steve explained. "It's nothing major, and he feels better today than he did at the time, but it's a really quick turnaround.

"After every game, there are always bumps and bruises, so it's whether people turn around quick enough. And then we have to make decisions on what the best things are to do for each game.

"I can't wait to get a few of the boys off the injury table and into the squad. I would have loved to have brought Kion Etete on with 30 minutes left on Tuesday. It would have made a hell of a difference - having someone up there who could deal with their three centre-halves, or hold a couple of balls up.

"Or, we could have brought Isaak Davies on, to scare the life out of them with his pace. I'd like to think there's more to come from us, as well, once we get a few bodies back.

"Ebou Adams can use the international break to get himself back into the squad. There's no timeframe on which match he'll be back for. It's just a case of getting him into the best physical shape we can, and when we do, we'll have a really good player on our hands."

The recent departure of Terriers boss Danny Schofield adds a different dimension to Saturday's fixture, one which Morison explained that his side will be prepared for.

He continued: "There's always normally a response. It makes our planning difficult, because you don't know what the other team are going to do now.

"Carlos Corberán, who was there last season, put a good team together and had a plan, and it was working really well. It's always difficult after that year where you do really well; you lose a couple of your best players, and then it can take a little bit longer to find your feet.

"We'll focus on ourselves as much as we possibly can, give the lads all the information, and we'll cover all bases.

"They've got some really good players, as we know. We just need to make sure that we're on it. I think if we perform close to how we did on Tuesday, we'll go pretty close."
