Iain Darbyshire
PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE

Ahead of this Sunday's fixture, head coach Iain Darbyshire said: “It was great to win away on derby day last weekend but attention turns quickly to Sunday. It’s that time of year where games come thick and fast. Our focus is now on retaining the Bute Energy Welsh Cup and ensuring that we remain consistent every week.

“The intensity of training is through the roof as we look to build on the result on Sunday. The players are in a rhythm at the moment and it’s a great place to be. We’re going to try and keep that going for the final few weeks of the calendar year.

“Given the fact that we have some huge games coming up before Christmas, we will have a bit more of a settled side than we did in the Adran Trophy game against Flint. There will be a few young players who will be involved to see where they are at in their development but it will be a strong side that we put out.

“Cardiff Met are top of the league below and we played them in pre-season, so we know their qualities. We have an idea of what they’re going to do but ultimately, we see the game in a way that if we turn up with the standards that we can play at, we have a good chance of progressing.
