Entry for this Sunday’s match at Cardiff International Sports Campus will cost £5 for adults and £1 for Under 16’s.
PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE
“It’s going to be another difficult game," Iain began. “They have beaten us once this year and showed the quality they possess in that game. They’re an attack-minded team with some really good attacking players so we’re anticipating a very difficult fixture where we know we’ll have to be at our best to get three points.
“We’re joint top at the moment so every fixture and every point counts. There is always that pressure every single week where there’s a target on your back but thankfully we’ve experienced this in the past few years, so we have that to draw on with these difficult games. We’ll be switched on and be ready to do what we need to do on Sunday.
“Across the Senior Team, U19’s and U13’s, we’ve had a really successful start to the season, and we know around the festive period, it really does heat up and there’s difficult fixtures every week. We know we have built the foundations and we’re feeling positive about where we are, it’s just about stepping up each week and delivering points weekly.”
PRE-MATCH | MIKAYLA COOK
"We know it’s going to be a tough game," Mikayla said. "They’ve got a very strong team and will be looking to do what they did last time out. We’ve learned a lot and improved a lot as a team since we last played them so we are hoping to set it right on the weekend and get the result we need.
"As a team we have a lot of confidence at the moment, morale is high, and everyone has been working really hard in training. On the weekend we will be looking to build on the results we’ve had so far this season. These are the big games that I think help push us and develop us as a team.
"For myself I’ve got a lot of confidence in my own game right now, each game that I go into I’m always looking to try and help the team in any way that I can, coming off the back of a hard season with injuries I’m really trying to strive and push myself and I think that is showing in my game each week.
"It was a very proud moment for me to be able to captain the side against Met last weekend. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do since I was young. Being not just a player but also a fan of the Club, to walk the girls out for the first time was very special and I’ll always hold that as one of the highlights of my career."
OPPOSITION FOCUS | THE NEW SAINTS
After defeating the Bluebirds on the opening day of the season via a goal from Chantelle Teale, TNS have amassed a record of four wins and four defeats, which sees them sitting in fourth position in the league standings.
In the league, they most recently overcame Briton Ferry Llansawel after coming from behind twice in the first half, with the equalising goals coming from Lexie Harrison and Caitlin Chapman, followed by a Lia Lewis strike which gave The Saints a 3-2 victory.
