Ahead of the fixture, head coach Iain Darbyshire said: “I’m excited to welcome Wrexham to Leckwith this weekend. It’s always a very difficult game when we play against them, they have had a few good results recently and they will be difficult to play against.

“It should be a great game for the fans to watch, hopefully we’ll have a big crowd in Leckwith who will enjoy the game, and I hope we can put on a good show for them.”

Wing-back Ffion Price added: "We are all excited to get going on Sunday. We’ve had a good week of training and we are looking forward to playing Wrexham at Leckwith.

"We know that Wrexham have a strong and talented squad. We’ve prepared well and we are looking forward to the game. We’ve had some great performances against Wrexham and we are looking to produce another good performance.

"Our last game against them was a great way to kick off the season for myself scoring a free-kick, but the main thing is getting the three points. It’s the team who get me into those great positions and I’m hoping we can create some more of these opportunities on Sunday."

Wrexham AFC Women
Opposition Focus | Wrexham

After losing three of their opening four league matches, Wrexham steadied the ship by recording consecutive 3-0 wins against both Cardiff Met and Briton Ferry Llansawel. They fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to second placed The New Saints last time out, with Lexi Jones’ goal on the stroke of half time the difference between the two sides.

The visitors have fared much better in cup competitions, overcoming CPDM Llanystumdwy 11-0 and CPDM Y Felinheli 10-0 in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, while also defeating Cwmbran Celtic Women 4-1 in the Genero Adran Trophy.

Wrexham come into the tie sitting in sixth place in the league standings, having a record of three wins and five losses, with our fixtures against the Red Dragons always providing a stern test.
