Iain Darbyshire
PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE

Ahead of this Sunday's clash, Iain said: “We’ve got confidence and a lot of belief in our ability. We believe in the things that we’re doing in training every single week and we’re seeing that come to fruition on matchdays.

“We know it will be a difficult game, and we just want to go out there and perform for the fans.

“They’ve improved a lot and have had some really good results over the last few weeks, showing consistency. I think it will be a better Swansea than what we’ve played previously at Cardiff City Stadium.

“We know they’ll be organised, physical at times and direct, with dangerous players down the middle, so I think that we’re preparing to show our qualities and making sure that we try to dominate the game as best as possible, managing the difficult moments when they come.”

“The players are demonstrating their qualities on a weekly basis. Everybody in the squad, including the U19s that we’re bringing to the squad are delivering on a weekly basis, so we have full belief in the playing squad.

“The message is clear from the staff this week in what we want to do; we’ve met up for a couple of good sessions just to tidy things up and make sure that everyone is completely clear on the plan. I believe that if we get the plan right and the players perform on the day that we can get a positive result.”

“We view every game as a chance for three points. We tailor for the opposition and know that each one has different qualities, so we’re preparing only thinking about three points. The magnitude of this fixture makes it a more competitive and physical game, but we welcome that. We’re looking to get another three points on the board and hopefully continue to be at the top of the table.”

“The fans have a huge role to play. We have great support and the attendances for our home games have dramatically increased this season, and fans have really bought into what we’re trying to do, the style of football that we’re playing.

“They bring the best out of the players, and I think that the players also bring the best out of them. We’re expecting a good following, so we’re hoping to do our best on the day and get the three points.”

Maddison Perrott
PRE-MATCH | MADDISON PERROTT

After netting a brace last time out against Flint Town United, we caught up with Maddison Perrott ahead of Sunday’s clash.

“It was an amazing feeling to get my first goals for the Club,” Maddison began. “Going into the game, I was really eager to impress and book a place in the next round, which we managed to do with a positive team performance. To have my teammates celebrate my first goal for Cardiff City and to see how happy they were for me, it was a great feeling. Everyone has been so welcoming since I made the move here and now I’m looking to build on those goals.

“We know that Sunday is a huge game. When I came to the Club, my teammates spoke to me about the importance of this fixture. When we played them at Cardiff City Stadium, it was a great day for us. Getting a 3-0 win over them and scoring some nice goals in front of our home fans was an amazing occasion. The support that they give us home and away really drives us to perform and we know that they will play their part again on Sunday.

“At the moment, we’re taking it game-by-game and trying to tick off each match with a win. Since the opening day, we’ve managed to do that and everything is going well for us. We’re heading into Sunday with a lot of confidence and togetherness; the feeling amongst the group at the moment is really positive and that will help us for some big games coming up.”
