PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE
“We know this is the fixture the fans look for in the calendar and the fixture the players are most excited for.” Iain began. “We know it’s going to be a difficult challenge on a difficult pitch so we’re expecting a different type of game to the previous game we played. But we’re looking forward to it and again, it’s a game we always want to win for our fans.
“With the postponement last week, we can use that as a bit of a reset. We have had quite a few injuries the last few weeks, so it gives us a chance to rest and rotate some players too so, we can take that as a positive and the players will be raring to go this Sunday.
“The players want to win everything across all competitions, so we want to be competitive. It’s an opportunity for us to progress into the later rounds. These games are always decided by small percentages, and if the previous result gives us a psychological advantage, then that’s great for us. We just need to make sure we execute the game plan and play to our maximum potential and if we do that, we’re confident we can win the game.
“We have some great players who can step up and provide big moments, they’ve done that consistently over the past couple of years. If we can make sure our players have these big moments and execute what we ask of them, we’re confident we can have a positive result.”
