Will Fish spoke to Cardiff City TV on Friday morning, with a quick turnaround from Wednesday night's draw with West Ham United to Saturday's clash with Burnley.
"I'm not feeling too bad." said Will. "The training that we do week-in, week-out, prepares us for weeks like this. I think the squad is in a good place. We'll train today, and tomorrow we'll be good to go again.
"After the game on Wednesday it felt like a loss, which in a way is good thing. If you're drawing with West Ham and you're disappointed, it shows where we are as a team."
Since returning from injury Will has been straight into the thick of Championship action, paired largely alongside Joel Bagan in central defence.
He said: "We've got a few injuries, mainly in the centre half position, which is unfortunate. There is nothing we can do about that. Anyone at any given time will step up and play wherever they have to play for the team; I think that shows what type of squad we've got.
"I've really enjoyed playing with Joel so far. I think you could put Bags anywhere on the pitch and he'd do a job for you! He's got all the attributes to be a top footballer. He's got a nice left foot and he's good at defending.
"I'm really happy to be back and a part of the team. As a footballer all you want to do is play games, and there is a big game tomorrow that we're looking forward to. Hopefully, we can pick up a few results now and lead us into Christmas."
Burnley visit the Welsh capital sitting in the bottom three, though Will was under no illusions about the challenge ahead this weekend.
"I think every game in this league the opponent will be tough. Burnley have got Premier League status in their past.
"We played them last year away and won 2-1, which is something we can take as a real positive. We've got to stick to what we've been doing and it'll come to plan.
"The fans play a massive part. They're a big help for us at home. The boys play with a lot of confidence. I think it's an emphasis of ours that if we can keep playing the way we are at home, then along the way we'll pick up some results away."
