Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Fratton Park, Gabriel Osho spoke to Cardiff City TV.
Following our first league defeat of the campaign on Wednesday night, the centre-back discussed the return to training, with preparations swiftly underway for a return to action this weekend.
“Obviously it’s a quick turnaround,” began Gabriel. “But realistically it’s the same as a Saturday to Tuesday, and hopefully we’ll be in good shape this weekend.
“As it’s a short turnaround, we need everything we can get really, to help get your body ready. We went to Recovery Cardiff, used the ice baths and the sauna there, and had a team meal.
"We have to get over the defeat on Wednesday. We’ve gone over the game, and we’ll be in better shape tomorrow.”
Osho reflected on the performance earlier this week before sharing his expectation for Saturday, with Pompey now in his sights.
He explained: “I think it’s tough because technical mistakes can happen in the game, but physically I think we need to be better, getting at them more and we’ll look to put that right tomorrow.
“They’re probably looking at this as a game that they have to do well in especially as they lost their last game as well. Every game is different and causes different challenges."
Having featured in a centre-back pairing with both Joel Bagan and summer signing Krystian Bielik since the season began, Osho compared the experiences as he praised his teammates.
“Joel and Krystian are of course different players, and I’ve enjoyed playing with them both, they’re both brilliant players. Bags is left-footed so brings a different balance on that side, while Krystian is 6’7 and wants to head everything and be strong, so they are different players!
“It’s been a decent start to the season for myself, not perfect but decent. I want to build on that now for the rest of the games up until the break at least.”
He concluded: “We’ve not got a lot of time on the training pitch, but you just go from game to game and your mind just stays in that state which is good.”
