Ahead of Saturday’s return to CCS, Will Fish spoke to the press.
Having settled in well with two appearances off the bench following injury, Will has enjoyed his return as City have picked up points at home and away.
“I think we’re in a really good place,” began Will. “Of course every week we train it’s tough, and the Gaffer and staff demand really high quality, the fitness levels that we need to get to.
“That’s how we train every week, so that we’re in a good place and ready to go on the weekend.
“I thought at Middlesbrough we played really well, in the first half especially. Not many teams go there and press them like we did, and of course we were 2-0 up so we got the rewards from it. It was always going to be a tough second half, so all in all it was a really positive result.
“Football works in terms of momentum and confidence, and I think you can see as the season is going on that we’re playing with more confidence, and what the manager and his staff want is coming to the forefront. I think that the gameplans are perfect.”
Now looking towards this weekend’s fixture against Blues, the centre-back anticipates a stern challenge from the visitors as well as strong support from the home crowds.
“It will be a tough game,” said Will. “They’ve got good players, but like the manager has said, we don’t fear anybody in this league and I’m sure we’ll go out there and play and press like we do every week. We’re really looking forward to playing at some of the grounds and experiencing those fixtures.
“There are no easy games in this league at all. I think that the stature of some of the clubs in this league is really exciting, especially for the people in the changing room, myself included
“Our fans in general are amazing and they follow us in numbers like they did on the weekend at Middlesbrough.
“I think that this place, when we’re in a good spot as a team, is bouncing. We’ve seen that already this season, and it massively helps us on the pitch. It’s something that we encourage.”
