Callum Robinson met the press on Monday to preview City's Carabao Cup Quarter Final against Chelsea.
With the Bluebirds hosting the Blues at a sold-out CCS on Tuesday night, the City forward shared his excitement at the fixture.
“It will be a good test for all of us,” Callum began. “As a team and as a Club we’ve been doing really well, and it will be a big test to see what we can do tomorrow night against a team who are we would want to be.
“This is what the Carabao Cup is about. We’re going into it in great form and with nothing to lose. It’s going to be a full house here and we’ve been having such a good season, we’ll just give it a go in our way.
“For the young boys, they can enjoy games like this. The time can come and go, so to most of the lads in the group I’d say to them to enjoy the occasion.
"Most of them are playing for the team that they’ve come through at, and for most of the season it’s probably been unbelievable for them, but now to be playing Chelsea having come through the whole system is a great achievement."
Reflecting on his own role as an experienced member of the squad with many Academy graduates involved regularly across the campaign so far, Callum praised the attitude of his teammates ahead of a big test during the week.
“It’s really good seeing the lads stepping up," he continued. "Especially those who have been involved in the First Team set-up for a while.
“It’s great to see the likes of Cian [Ashford], Isaak [Davies], and Joel [Bagan] getting so many minutes and playing so many games because obviously you’ve seen throughout the years that they’ve been travelling with the squad and having loan spells.
“It’s so good for the youth of the Club as well, the younger lads behind the scenes. I’ve been there before, where you want to see that you will get that chance.
“It’s nice to get a big fixture at home in this Quarter Final. It’s good for the City and the home fans, we’ll have a full house here tomorrow night and everyone’s friends and families will be there, so as I’ve said we want to enjoy it and do the best that we can.
“The focus as far as we’re concerned will be on what we do, and how we can be a threat, which will be tough against some top players.
“They’ll be strong but we want to give it a right go.”
