Omari Kellyman previewed Saturday's clash with Leyton Orient by speaking to the press.
The City loanee has impressed for the Bluebirds, with his two goals coming against Reading and Doncaster Rovers.
“Being at the top of the league going into the new year, we can look at the rest of the season positively and it’s an opportunity to go again," Omari began.
"For me personally, I can’t be happier with how it’s going and for the team as well.
Prior to Omari moving to the Welsh capital, he had a sustained period on the sidelines with a long-term injury but has worked his way back to fitness.
He continued: “In the past month or so, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my body. To be playing week-in, week-out and trying to help the team and being in a position where I’m available to help the team has been great.
“You need to be in the match scenarios to get your feel back. It’s been positive. I needed games and minutes to build back fitness and momentum.
“I’ve learned that I can do it. Off the back of the season that I had last year, it seemed so far away, almost impossible. That’s been the biggest learning and with that, you’ve started to see confidence come.
“I wouldn’t say that I’ve found my best form but I’ve definitely had a positive few weeks finding that next gear.
"There’s still two or three more gears to go to. Playing 90 minutes every week is the goal and even when there’s two games in a week, being available for both is what’s next for me."
City take on the O's on Saturday, who currently sit 20th in the Sky Bet League One table.
Omari concluded by expressing how much he has enjoyed fitting into Brian Barry-Murphy's system.
“I think it suits how I play to a tee. We’re top of the table so we know that it works.
“My first game, I had a bit of a rude awakening into the physicality. That’s the best way it could have happened because as soon as it did, I knew what I was in for.
"I’ve been a part of physical games growing up so you learn how to cope with it.
“I think the point of a loan is to go out and showcase what you’re capable of. Coming here has been great for me."
