Ahead of the weekend, Dylan Lawlor spoke to the press at CCS.
Having missed out on last week’s away win over Northampton Town, Dylan is now relishing the prospect of a return to the pitch, beginning with Saturday’s home fixture against the Stags.
“I’m feeling good and looking forward to playing at home again,” began Dylan. “The season so far has had its tough moments, I think my body is feeling the effects of it but I think I’m growing with every game.
“It’s adapting, which is the main thing, and everything is in place now so that fingers crossed I can stay injury free.
“They’ll bring their physicality and will try to play on their strengths, but I think we’ve got enough quality in the room to hopefully put a performance in.
“All the boys are looking forward, it’s been the talk of the changing room that we can’t wait to play at home again with all the travelling that’s been going on.
“Obviously, we take loads of fans away so it doesn’t really feel like much of an away game when you’re hearing the City fans, but playing at home again will be unbelievable, and hopefully we can put a performance in for the fans.
“There have been so many matches throughout the season already, but we’re looking forward to this next run. You play football for the games, so keep the games coming.”
Continuing, the defender reflected on the effect that returning to CCS will have on both players and supporters alike, especially as the Bluebirds have seven home fixtures to play before the end of the calendar year.
“Personally, I feel that you’ve got to make a habit of winning and I suppose that the table then takes care of itself when you’re winning games and playing well.
“We’re all looking forward to playing at home again, and it will be a nice short trip for our supporters to come and watch us play, instead of hours on the road.
"As a squad we’re all buzzing for it, I think that we’ve missed it.”
