Ahead City's trip to Nottinghamshire, Omari Kellyman previewed City’s final match of the season with Cardiff City TV.
Having secured promotion to the Sky Bet Championship two weeks ago at Reading, Omari cited the team’s desire to keep up their winning run of form as they look to end the season on a high note.
“We’re buzzing for it,” began Omari. “We’ve done it throughout the course of the season, but I think it will be nice to go and put the icing on the cake and finish the season in style.
“All the work we’ve put in through the season has amounted to this, and now we can just enjoy ourselves. You can see that we haven’t taken our feet off the pedal, we’re all still raring to go and get results. We’ve hit the club record for the highest points in a season and we’re looking to knock it again.”
While Mansfield Town will end the season occupying a spot in mid-table, Kellyman reflected on the challenges that they will pose once City arrive at the One Call Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“We know what they’re capable of,” Omari explained. “I feel like any team in this league is capable of beating anyone. Upsets happen, so we know what to expect from a physical team, and we’ve got to bring it to them.”
He concluded: “Everybody appreciates the support, we can’t thank them enough. I’ve said it before but it’s like having a twelfth man out there when they’re behind us, and they have been great all season.”
