Pre-Match Press - Plymouth Argyle | Will Fish

Will Fish speaks to the press
Will Fish previewed Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash against Plymouth Argyle by speaking to the press.

City head into their latest away fixture in fine form, having claimed home wins over Luton Town and AFC Wimbledon in the past week.

“It’s something that’s a real privilege to be a part of at the minute," Will began. "I think we’re only going to get better. In recent weeks, we’re starting to turn those 1-0 wins into three or four, and the forward players are thriving. It’s a good place to be.

“This manager is big on is taking it game by game. I think that’s evident in that every game we approach has our full concentration. Every game, we analyse fully and we have a gameplan, whether it’s Wimbledon on a Tuesday or Luton on a Saturday.

“Brian always said from the start of the season that after Christmas we would go up even more gears, and that’s coming to fruition."

Saturday's opponents currently sit 12th in the third-tier table and have claimed recent victories over Blackpool and Leyton Orient.

Will continued: "We know it will be a tough game, it’s a difficult place to go. But we have full confidence in ourselves and I’m sure that the boys have confidence too that we can go there and get a positive result.

"As a team, we knew it wouldn’t be easy to go straight back up. At the start of the season, people were saying that our squad is young and there’s not much experience of this league, but the manager’s influence, how he’s got us playing and his belief in us has ultimately made the difference.

“We have one of, if not the best squad in the league. We’ve all gelled, and over time you can see the progress that we’ve made on the training ground and taking it into matchdays."

The City centre-back has featured in 27 league fixtures so far this campaign, finding the net in a home win over Mansfield Town back in November.

“I’ve never been involved in a team that’s going for promotion, so there’s a different feeling to it." he added. "You can tell there’s a buzz around the city, in the stadium and how the fans are. I think we’re in a really good place.

“What Brian is big on is that we don’t want to waste these moments and wish the time away. This might never happen again in your career - hopefully it does - but you’ve got to take it game by game and enjoy every moment.”
