Pre-Match Press - Reading | Will Fish

Will Fish
Will Fish spoke to the press as the Bluebirds turn their attention to Saturday's clash with Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

"I think everyone is in the same boat, really - on board with the manager." Will began. "We've just got to take it one game at a time. Tuesday was half disappointing, but at the same time it was probably a good point in the end. Now we move onto Saturday, and we just need to focus on ourselves. It doesn't matter what teams around us do, as long as we pick up a win.

"You can't get carried away. Just staying present, turning up every day and working hard every day like we have all season - that will stand us in good stead. With how Brian is, his training style, the meetings we have, we're all pushing for the same goal.

"It's down to us now. It's in our control, and that's how we want it to be. It would be by far the best achievement in my career, and something I would be very proud of. We've got a great group of boys in that changing room, and it's been a privilege to be with them all year. Hopefully we can do everyone proud in the city."

With games coming thick and fast in the home straight of 2025/26, Will spoke about the squad's approach to managing these last weeks of the campaign.

"I think it's normal at this time of year that you see a bit of fatigue. It's been a slog, with the Cup games as well, and there's obviously a lot of travelling in this league. We didn't get back until 3:30/4 o'clock on Wednesday morning - the fans are in the same boat, so fairplay to them!

"Everyone is pretty focused. Everyone knows what we need to do. Obviously we've got a lot of younger players, including myself, who are still learning the game. Then we've got people like Ryan Wintle, Calum Chambers, Callum Robinson, Perry Ng - boys who have been in this scenario before, and know what it takes to get over the line.

"I think once you're in the moment, and you've got 11 players there who are stepping out onto the pitch, who all want the same end goal, which is to win, we'll just take it game by game. You obviously feel maybe a bit more pressure than normal, but we're also in a good place where we're in control, so I think we're all good."
