Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the press ahead of Wednesday night's clash with recently relegated West Ham United at CCS.
"Any changes that West Ham may or may not make, they still have the same players, who have obvious qualities." Brian began. "We know and respect them, but we don't fear them.
"It heightens the importance of having very clear principles of play ourselves, and certain things that we do. They have to be evident in all of our performances to give ourselves the best chance to win, no matter what situation you face or what players you face. If you get enough of those principles evident, we truly believe that we'll get a great chance to win the game.
"All of these teams have obvious qualities and obvious wealth, but we believe in our own Club, our own players and our own supporters. Our duty is to try and play for them, try and win for them, and that's our objective tomorrow."
The Bluebirds are on a ten-game unbeaten run in league matches at Cardiff City Stadium, with Brian excited by the prospect of maintaining that record against a team fancied by many to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
He said: "For us, tomorrow we're at home, back at our own stadium. The pitch is in incredible condition. We've done a lot of work - it hasn't been easy and it hasn't been cheap. We've been supported incredibly well by Ken Choo, who has had to finance a lot to help us with the pitch. For us, the way we play, we have a highly-skilled team, so the most important thing then is to have a pitch that we can play on. We've been provided with it, so the next part is to try and play well on it.
"We can't wait. We worked all last season for games like this, against teams of the calibre that we're going to face. We want to test ourselves, compete against them. We know their qualities, they're clear, but we believe we can win. We're very focused on being present, trying to be ready for tomorrow and trying to win."
The boss also provided a fitness update ahead of the midweek clash, with several players picking up knocks during our weekend defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
"We'll check on Krystian [Bielik] in training today, he's close. I think he has a chance. Rubin [Colwill] obviously was a big positive for us on Saturday, to come back and feel so good after his appearance from the bench.
"Isaak Davies has a hamstring injury, so he won't be fit for four weeks. Perry [Ng] didn't train yesterday but seems okay. We're hopeful on him. Alex Robertson and Will Fish both didn't train yesterday, so we'll check on them again."
