An additional and final pre-season First Team fixture has been added to the Bluebirds’ summer schedule.
Brian Barry-Murphy’s side will open their series of pre-season friendly fixtures next month against Malaysian Super League side, Johor Darul Ta’zim. The game will be played at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain, on Wednesday 9th July, kicking off at 7pm.
Supporters are invited to attend the fixture, with full ticket information to follow.
Our opponents, known as the Southern Tigers and owned by Tunku Ismail Idris, the Crown Prince of Johor are the defending Malaysian treble winners having secured the Malaysian Super League, Malaysia Cup and Malaysia FA Cup during the 2024/25 season.
Coached by former Watford and Sheffield Wednesday boss Xisco Muñoz, JDT will once again be representing Malaysia and the state of Johor in the AFC Champions League Elite, the Asian Champions League.
Next month’s fixture will be the first between Cardiff City and a Malaysian Super League club. Cardiff City’s Academy has previously hosted young players from Kedah Darul Aman FC as part of Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s ongoing commitment to helping develop the Malaysian game.
